Get started with Retail Savage Voice in four steps
Welcome. This guide walks you through your first 15 minutes with the product: connecting your Klaviyo account, reviewing your voice profile, locking it in, and generating your first copy.
Step 1 — Connect your Klaviyo account
On the landing page, click Connect with Klaviyo. You'll be bounced to Klaviyo's authorization screen, where you'll grant Retail Savage Voice read-only access to your account.
What we read:
- Your account metadata — brand name, sender info, address, website URL
- Your sent campaigns — names, send times, recipient counts, channel (email + SMS)
- Your campaign body content — subject lines, preview text, full HTML for email and full body for SMS
- Your lists, flows, and metrics for usage analytics
What we never read or modify:
- Your subscriber profiles, names, emails, or phone numbers
- Anything that requires write access — we are read-only across all our scopes
You can disconnect at any time from your Klaviyo Apps dashboard. If you do, we delete your synthesized voice profile within 30 days on request.
Step 2 — Wait for synthesis (about 4 to 5 minutes)
Once you've authorized, we begin building your brand voice profile. Synthesis is thorough — it pulls from eight signal sources before writing a single line:
- Last 5 sent email campaigns + last 5 SMS campaigns (full body content)
- Deep crawl of your website — sitemap-aware, follows internal links to about, story, workshop, event, FAQ pages
- Your Google Maps reviews + the responses you wrote back to customers
- Your Yelp reviews + responses (when present)
- Your Instagram captions (last 20 posts)
- Your TikTok captions (last 20 posts)
- Your service-area demographics (Census ACS + USDA Plant Hardiness Zone)
You'll see a live status feed showing each step. Total time is typically 4 to 5 minutes. Don't close the tab while it runs.
Step 3 — Review and lock your voice profile
Your profile arrives in six sections, plus a customer sentiment block:
- Brand personality — the character traits your store actually has
- Core voice attributes — sentence rhythm, register, sign-off conventions, the mechanics of how you sound
- Sample messaging — phrases your store reaches for again and again, pulled verbatim from your real sends
- Audience personas — who you're actually writing to, grounded in local demographics
- Cultural anchors — your zone, your soil, your spring rush, the regional context that makes copy sound here
- Platform guidelines — channel-by-channel notes for email, SMS, social, popups, and in-store signage
Plus a customer sentiment block: what customers consistently praise, what frustrates them, the words they actually use about you — pulled from your reviews and social comments.
Read through each section. Every claim traces back to a specific source in your data — you can see exactly where each rule came from. Edit anywhere it doesn't sound right; your edits become canonical.
Click Lock this voice in when the profile captures your store's voice. You can re-synthesize anytime to produce a new draft without disturbing the locked version.
Step 4 — Generate your first copy
Head to the Generate page. Enter:
- A brief — describe the moment in a sentence or two: “First wave Hollywood Hibiscus preorder, pickup May 15”
- Channels — email, SMS, Facebook, Instagram, web popup, in-store signage (any combination)
Click Generate. Within 30 to 40 seconds you'll have drafts for each channel, written in your locked voice. Edit each freely. Copy out, paste into Klaviyo / Facebook / Instagram / your popup builder / your sign printer.
What's next
Free tier. 10 generations per day, unlimited voice synthesis, unlimited profile editing. No credit card required.
Re-synthesize. As your campaign history grows or your brand evolves, you can re-synthesize at any time. Each lock creates a new version of your voice profile.
Share your voice profile. From the Voice profile page, generate a public read-only link to share your voice doc with your team, contractors, or anyone you want to align on brand.
